SPC vs WPC Vinyl: Which Core Belongs in a Maui House?

Two luxury vinyl plank samples showing different core construction

SPC (stone-plastic) and WPC (wood-plastic) both get called "LVP" on the internet. They do not live the same life on a Kahului slab.

SPC for wet rooms and rentals

The limestone core stays dimensionally stable when the trade winds die and the house sits humid. It is the usual spec for kitchens, baths, and units that turn over guests.

WPC where you want a softer step

WPC can feel a little kinder underfoot in a bedroom. It is still vinyl, still needs a flat subfloor, and we still moisture-test the slab. If you are not sure, bring us to the rooms - the answer is usually obvious once we see how you live.
