The Daily Habit That Keeps LVP Looking Its Best
June 24, 2026
If there's one small habit that does more for a Maui home's floors than almost anything else, it's this: get the sand off before it has a chance to grind in.
Why This One Habit Matters So Much
Sand and grit act like fine sandpaper every time a foot slides across a floor, and it's the single biggest cause of premature dulling on LVP and other hard flooring near lanai doors and entryways. A quick sweep or dry mop at the end of the day, right at the entry points, prevents most of that wear before it ever happens.
A Simple System, Not a Chore
Keeping a small broom or a dry microfiber mop right by the door people actually use makes this an easy habit rather than a dreaded task. It takes thirty seconds and it's the closest thing to a secret we have for keeping a busy island floor looking new for years instead of months.
