The day your new floor goes in is a good one — but the habits you build in the first few weeks after are what actually determine how it looks five or ten years down the road. A little care up front goes a long way.

Small Habits, Big Payoff

Felt pads under furniture legs prevent dents and scratches from day-to-day shifting, and a simple no-shoes-indoors habit keeps grit — Maui's sand and dirt included — from grinding into new flooring before it's had a chance to settle in. These are the kind of small things we always mention when we hand a project off, because we'd genuinely rather you get years of enjoyment out of it than have to think about touch-ups sooner than you should.

Give It Time to Settle

Some materials, especially hardwood and certain LVP products, benefit from a short acclimation period where humidity and temperature stabilize before heavy furniture goes back in place. If anything ever feels off in those first few weeks, don't hesitate to reach out — we'd rather hear from you early than have a small thing turn into a bigger one.
