What to Expect at Your Measuring Appointment
August 7, 2026
If you've never had a flooring or drapery measuring appointment before, it's a lot more straightforward — and a lot more relaxed — than people expect. We treat it like visiting a neighbor's house, not running a job site. Here's exactly how it works.
Before the Appointment
It helps to have a general sense of which rooms you're working on and any inspiration photos or material preferences you've already found. You don't need exact measurements yourself — that's what the appointment is for — but knowing your rough budget and timeline helps us give you more useful guidance on the spot.
What Happens During the Visit
Our own trained crew comes out to measure the actual space — not estimate from a floor plan — so the numbers we work from are accurate from the start. We'll talk through material options suited to the room, answer questions about durability or maintenance, and give you a clear picture of what the project will involve before anything is ordered. There's no pressure to decide on the spot; it's meant to give you the information you need to make the right call for your home.
